Easy Money Calc ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This page explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.
The short version: the calculators run entirely in your browser. We don't see what you enter. We use cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics for anonymous, aggregated visitor counts, and we show advertising from Google to keep the site free. Ads are non-personalised by default — you can opt in to personalised ads (which use cookies) using the link in the footer.
1. Who we are
Easy Money Calc is operated from Ireland. The data controller for this site is the operator of easymoneycalc.com. Contact: via our contact page.
2. Data we collect
We deliberately collect as little as possible. The site is largely static and the calculators run entirely client-side, meaning the salary, mortgage balance, and other inputs you enter never leave your browser.
Server logs (essential)
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically logs basic request data — IP address, user agent, timestamp — for security and abuse-prevention purposes. These logs are retained for a short period and are not used for tracking.
Cloudflare Web Analytics (always on, no cookies)
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for anonymous, aggregated visitor counts. It is privacy-first by design: no cookies are set, no IP addresses are stored long-term, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking. Because no personal data is processed, no consent is required under GDPR or ePrivacy. We see anonymous, aggregated counts of page views and referrers — never individual visitors. See Cloudflare's privacy notes for full detail.
Contact form submissions
If you submit our contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message. The form is delivered to us via Cloudflare Email Routing (our hosting provider's email service). We use this data only to reply to you. We do not add you to any mailing list. Messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry, then deleted.
4. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to display advertising on calculator and guide pages — this is what allows us to keep the calculators free to use. Ads always appear, but they default to non-personalised mode unless you opt in.
Non-personalised ads (default): ads are chosen based only on the page content and your approximate location (e.g. country). Google does not use a profile of your interests to choose the ad. A small first-party cookie may still be set for frequency capping and fraud prevention.
Personalised ads (opt-in): if you accept personalised ads in the cookie banner, Google AdSense may use cookies and identifiers to serve ads relevant to your interests. Google may also collect, share, and use data for ad personalisation under their own privacy policy.
In either mode you can:
- Review Google's ad practices and opt out of personalised ads at google.com/settings/ads (works across all Google properties)
- Opt out of third-party advertising cookies at aboutads.info/choices
For full detail on how Google uses data when you visit a partner site, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
5. Legal basis for processing
Under GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent — for personalised advertising (you can withdraw at any time)
- Legitimate interest — for security logs, anonymous cookieless analytics, non-personalised advertising, and replying to a contact-form message you sent us
- Contract / service delivery — for handling your contact-form enquiry
6. Your rights
If you are in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to:
- Access any personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to erasure")
- Restrict or object to processing
- Data portability (receive a copy in a machine-readable format)
- Withdraw consent at any time (use the cookie-settings link)
- Lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission or your local supervisory authority
To exercise any of these rights, contact us.
7. Data sharing
We don't sell or rent your data. We share data only with the third-party processors needed to run the site:
- Cloudflare — hosting, anonymous analytics, and email delivery for contact-form submissions (via Email Routing)
- Google — for advertising (non-personalised by default; personalised only if you opt in)
8. Data retention
- Server logs: short-term (Cloudflare default ~30 days)
- Analytics data: aggregated and anonymous, retained per Cloudflare's policy
- Contact-form messages: retained only as long as needed to handle your enquiry, then deleted
9. Children
The site is not directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll bump the "last updated" date and re-prompt your cookie choices. Your existing consent will be cleared so you can re-evaluate.
