Easy Money Calc is not a regulated financial adviser. Calculations on this site are estimates only. They are not financial, tax, legal, or investment advice. Always speak to a qualified professional before acting on any figure you see here.

What our calculators do

Each calculator implements a standard formula published by the relevant Irish authority (Revenue, the Department of Social Protection, the Central Bank, etc.) and applies the rates in force for the tax year you select. We document every rate source and the date it was last verified — see the about page for our methodology.

What our calculators do not do

  • Personalised advice. No calculator can capture every nuance of your situation — joint assessment elections, capital allowances, foreign-source income, contractor structures, inheritance tax interactions, and many other edge cases.
  • Reliable rates after a Budget change. Rates change in October each year. We typically update within 48 hours, but there is always a window where the most recent change may not yet be reflected.
  • Investment performance forecasting. Where calculators ask for "expected return" (e.g. compound interest, pension projections), the result is a deterministic projection using your assumption — not a forecast. Real returns vary year to year and may be negative.
  • Legal interpretation. Tax rules change and have been litigated. We model the simple-case interpretation; complex situations may have different outcomes once Revenue or the Tax Appeals Commission have ruled on them.

When to seek professional advice

Always consult a qualified professional when:

  • You're making a major financial decision (buying property, retiring, starting a business)
  • Your situation includes elements we don't model (foreign income, complex assessment, business structures)
  • The numbers are large enough that an error materially affects your finances
  • You're uncertain about how a rule applies to your specific circumstances

A list of regulated financial advisers in Ireland is available at the Central Bank of Ireland Register.
